Matt Arvay is an audio engineer and music marketer from Trenton, New Jersey, now based in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania. His journey began with making beats for his twin brother and grew into work across recording, mixing, mastering, music promotion, touring, and live sound.

At 16, Matt Arvay tore his ACL in gym class and suddenly had a lot of free time. His twin brother, Jaye, was a strong singer, and Arvay thought they could make beats together and turn the music into a million-dollar idea.

A friend, Gabe McKernan, introduced him to FL Studio. Arvay started making beats for Jaye and local artists around New Kensington and Natrona Heights. McKernan and his family became an important part of his early path, opening their home to him and helping him learn production and audio engineering.

Finding His Way Into the Studio

Arvay briefly attended college for audio production, but left after about six months to keep learning through hands-on work. His first studio session was in November 2017. He continued recording and producing before landing his first paid engineering job on July 14, 2020. He credits Jakob Thomas with helping him get that first studio position.

Arvay’s work soon expanded from local sessions to projects reaching wider audiences. One release became a major turning point in his early career.

A Breakthrough With Reese Youngn

In 2021, Arvay recorded, mixed, and mastered Reese Youngn’s “No More Parties Remix.” Arvay says the song has received about three billion views across platforms. He had been doing paid studio work for roughly nine months when the track took off, and he describes it as the project that helped make his engineering work known to a much larger audience.

The experience built on the years he had spent learning how to record artists and shape their sound. It also gave him a clearer view of how much more goes into a music career than making a beat and putting a song online.

From Artist Management to Music Marketing

While helping manage his twin brother’s music, Arvay became interested in how artists could reach more listeners. He experimented with advertising and music pages before focusing more seriously on marketing in February 2025.

Today, Arvay describes his marketing work as user-generated content campaigns run through networks of TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram pages. He says some of his early 2026 campaigns involved Justin Bieber songs during a wave of renewed interest in older music. That work was in music marketing and promotion.

Taking His Experience to the Stage

Arvay’s work has also taken him beyond the recording studio. He says he has toured with several artists and bands. Earlier in 2026, he handled live sound at a Jason Aldean concert for an audience of about 5,000 people.

Studio engineering, online music promotion, and concert sound demand different skills. Arvay’s experience across all three has given him a view of how music is created, promoted, and performed.

Learning to Keep Going

Arvay says consistency has been one of the hardest parts of building his career. He has dealt with anxiety and OCD while mixing music and managing social media pages, and describes how becoming fixated on small details could make it difficult to enjoy the work.

The marketing side came with its own setbacks. Arvay says he lost more than $75,000 while testing campaigns and went through roughly ten TikTok pages as he learned what worked. He says those experiences taught him to keep experimenting and continue showing up, even when progress is slow.

His motivation started with family. Arvay says he entered music hoping that success could help ease financial pressure for people close to him. When his mother was diagnosed with cancer, he says, that goal became a defining reason to keep pursuing the work.
