Blaise Diamond: Pittsburgh Videographer Bringing Music to Life
If you search for Blaise Diamond, you’re going to find more than just a cameraman. Blaise Diamond is a Pittsburgh-based videographer, music video director, and creative visionary whose mission is simple: bring music to life through visuals. Known for his unique storytelling style and dedication to the craft, Blaise has built a reputation for turning artists’ visions into reality.
From VHS Tapes to Music Videos
Blaise’s journey started early. As a kid, he played with his dad’s old VHS camera, filming short horror movies with family and friends. Soon after, YouTube became his playground. He launched multiple channels—everything from Call of Duty montages to skits—learning video editing while syncing footage to music.
It all came together when his best friend CJ started making music. With music running deep in Blaise’s family—his grandparents, dad, and uncle all performed in bands—he was already surrounded by creativity. When CJ asked him to shoot his first music video, Blaise picked up his camera, and the rest is history.
Inspiration and Motivation
Blaise credits much of his inspiration to his late father, whose memory pushes him to outdo himself every day. He’s also fueled by his friends, family, and Pittsburgh’s creative community.
“The people I’ve met over the past three years have been incredibly motivating and inspiring,” Blaise shares.
He lives by one key message: STAY CREATING. Whether it’s music, cooking, or gardening, he believes in expressing creativity in all forms.
Creative Process and Challenges
Blaise’s creative process often starts with daydreaming and building a shot board—piecing together ideas, themes, and visuals that fit the artist’s music.
But the journey hasn’t been easy. Technical issues, failed edits, and creative burnout have all tested him.
“You can’t lose if you don’t quit,” Blaise says. “It takes time. You’re going to be bad at first. Take breaks when you need to, but keep going.”
Influences and Style
Blaise draws inspiration from Cole Bennett, founder of Lyrical Lemonade, as well as fashion visionary Virgil Abloh and horror director Wes Craven. Their work shaped his style—a mix of cinematic visuals, creative risks, and storytelling energy.
Goals and Vision
Right now, Blaise’s biggest goal is to become a horror movie director while continuing to grow his music video platform. Long-term, he wants to create a hub for discovering new artists—a brand people can trust for quality visuals and creative storytelling.
Advice for Beginners
Blaise reminds newcomers that success doesn’t happen overnight:
“When you start, you’re going to feel behind. Take breaks, avoid comparing yourself to others, and remember why you started. Your passion isn’t a 9-to-5—it’s supposed to bring you joy.”
